Snow Pack Travel Insurance
Hit the slopes with peace of mind when purchasing the Snow Pack additional option with any comprehensive, domestic or multi-trip policy with Webjet Travel Insurance. You must be aged 74 or younger to purchase this pack.
From skiing and snowboarding to tobogganing, rest assured you are covered when purchasing our Snow Pack.
To make sure you're protected from any accidents, you'll need to take out snow travel insurance. The cover will take care of any emergency medical expenses as well as any damage or theft to your equipment.
Snow sports are not automatically covered in standard travel insurance policies.
Why Should You Buy Travel Insurance When for Skiing or Snowboarding Trips?
Bluebird days and fresh tracks make for an exciting trip, but accidents can happen to even the most experienced winter sports lovers.
Winter Sports Put You At Risk
Winter sports are dangerous and can result in minor to live threatening injuries.
Some of the most commonly affected areas include the spine, ankles, shoulders, hands and pelvis.
As a result, it's vital to make sure your equipment is protecting you as well as travel insurance policy.
What Are The Benefits of Snow Travel Insurance?
A dedicated snow travel insurance policy will give you all of the standard features such as:
- Emergency Medical Cover: You never know what might happen while on a trip. You might get food poisoning or injured and need to see a doctor.
- Trip Cancellation: If your airline cancels its flights or closes down due to bankruptcy, you can submit a claim and get your money back.
- Trip Interruption: If there is an emergency back home or the weather takes a turn for the worst, and you can't continue your trip, your travel insurance can reimburse you, and you can continue your holiday at a later date.
- Emergency Evacuation: If something happens on the slopes and you need to be airlifted to the nearest hospital, it can end up costing thousands of dollars. Instead of footing the bill yourself, make sure your policy will cover these type of costs.
But it will also include cover related explicitly to winter sports activities such as on and off-piste skiing, damage or loss of your equipment including gear you have hired, and reimbursement of lift passes or ski school fees if you suffer from a fall or injury.
Which Sports are Covered by Snow Travel Insurance?
Skiing and snowboarding are the most popular winter sports activities covered by this type of plan. But snow travel insurance also includes bobsleighing, ice climbing, glacier trekking, snowmobiling, tobogganing and ice hockey.
What Doesn't Snow Travel Insurance Cover?
Always check the wording of your policy to make sure the winter sport is covered. It's also important to review the plan for exclusions. Some snow travel insurance won't cover you for specific activities such as off-piste skiing if you aren't accompanied by a qualified ski instructor.
Below are some of the included benefits available when purchasing the Snow Pack for your ski holiday. Please read the Product Disclosure Statement for single, duo and family policy limits.
- Emergency Rescue (except when travelling in Australia)
- Own Personal Snow Sport Equipment
- Snow Sport Equipment Hire
- Piste Closure
- Bad Weather & Avalanche Closure
Please be aware that if you purchase the Snow Pack and make a claim under 'Overseas Emergency Medical And Hospital Expenses' and 'Cancellation Fees And Lost Deposits', an additional $500 excess will apply on top of the standard $100 excess if your claim is directly related to you taking part in sports and activities listed above. And while you can pay to remove your standard excess of $100, you can’t pay to remove the additional $500 excess with the Adventure Pack.
