If you prefer public transportation, TransLink public bus route 622 head north to Noosa or south toward Mooloolaba and can be boarded right outside the arrivals hall. Shuttle transport on the Con-X-will cost between $25 and $60AUD and take you from the airport to many areas in south Sunshine Coast. Taxis and Uber from the airport start at $75AUD and include the mandatory $2.20AUD airport fee.

Take in the scenery along one of the hiking trails or a four-wheel-drive trail through Conondale National Park. Along the Great Walk, you can find rare and threatened animals including several species of frogs and the elusive yellow-bellied glider. Aspiring divers can head to Sunreef Mooloolaba to take a course in their highly acclaimed Five Star PADI Training Centre. The centre offers courses for all levels of divers. If you’re already certified, enjoy a snorkelling trip around the local reefs or a full diving experience on the ex-HMAS Brisbane and Flinders Reef. If you visit between July to October, you can sign up for their Swim with Humpback Whales Experience. Relax while you shop at the Noosa Civic Shopping Centre. Dive into more than 100 specialty stores and big name brands to find something for everyone. Enjoy a day on the water with a kayak, stand-up paddleboard (SUP), or catamaran hire at Golden Beach in Caloundra. Paddle through the secluded Pumicestone Passage and the Bribie Island National Park surrounds.
