Las Vegas Guide

What are the best restaurants and cafes in Las Vegas?

Bacchanal Buffet

The Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace is one of the best buffets in Las Vegas. Stop by for breakfast between 7.30am to 11am, or brunch from 11am to 3pm every day. Feast on red velvet pancakes, chocolate lava cakes, dim sum, tacos and more. For an extra $15 USD ($21.86 AUD), you can add on bottomless mimosas to your experience. Those wanting to skip the lines can take up a Dine #LikeACaesar Reservation Package, to receive a dedicated reservation time, unfettered access to the buffet spreads, an all-you-can drink package, and a decadent seafood tower.

Giada

Giada’s overlooks the Las Vegas Strip from the second floor of the Cromwell Hotel and Casino. It’s one of the top breakfast and brunch spots in the city and is a must-visit for foodies with tickets to Las Vegas. The menu packs a wow factor with dishes like lobster hash to pizza carbonara and a brunch tasting menu if you want to sample a bit of everything.

Eiffel Tower Restaurant

Planning a romantic rendezvous while away on flights to Las Vegas? Spoil your partner with a romantic meal at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant, located inside the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. The restaurant’s dining room has views over the Las Vegas Strip, and the menu is inspired by classic French flavours. Lunch diners can work through cold foie gras with duck prosciutto, parmesan-crusted chicken, and paillard of salmon with salad. For dinner, the menu covers fine dining favourites such as Royal Osetra caviar, whole boneless dovers sole, Muscovy duck and romanesco, and Rossini-style fillet mignon.

What can you do in Las Vegas over the weekend?

Go hiking

Las Vegas may be famous for its casinos, bars and nightclubs, but there's plenty to see and do away from the glitz and lights. Located one hours’ drive out of the city is Mount Charleston. It's an easy day trip and is home to dozens of hiking trails. If your flights to Las Vegas fall over the winter months, Mount Charleston is an excellent choice for snowboarding and skiing.

First Friday Art Festival

Time your flights to Las Vegas around the first Friday of the month and you can attend the First Friday Art Festival. It's a massive block party with food trucks, live music and art vendors. The event usually runs from 5pm to 11pm in the Arts District.

Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign

Whether your flights to Las Vegas have you in the city for a few days or a whole week, you can't fly back to Australia without seeing the famous "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign. It's one of the most popular photo spots in the city, so be prepared to wait for your turn to stand in front of this Las Vegas icon.

What are the best places to stay in Las Vegas?

Summerlin

Summerlin is a great place to stay for families with tickets to Las Vegas. It's about a 25-minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip and has a suburban vibe. If you’re looking for some nearby entertainment, there's the nearby Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa. It's next to a shopping centre with plenty of shops and dining options.

Downtown Las Vegas

Downtown Las Vegas is one of the coolest areas of the city. It’s a 16-minute drive from McCarran International Airport (LAS) in a taxi or ride-share, or it is accessible by a 45-minute bus ride on the 109. There's more than enough things to see in the area to fill up your holiday itinerary, such as good museums and a zip line that zooms above Fremont Street. Art-lovers with flights to Las Vegas can wander past some of the city's incredible street art. The street art gallery spans an eight-block radius - too much ground to cover in just one day. So, staying in Downtown means you can dedicate a day or two to seeing as many of these works as possible. Plus you’ll be able to take advantage of the area’s thriving cafe scene, too.

Las Vegas Strip

Want the full Las Vegas experience? Purchase your tickets to Las Vegas and book a hotel along the legendary Las Vegas Strip. This boulevard boasts a mix of accommodation options, and those travelling in the off-season may even be able to find bargain rates at some of the Strip’s most glitzy hotels. Do keep in mind that rates for Las Vegas Strip hotels tend to be higher than other places in the city. The Strip is 10 minutes’ away from McCarran International Airport (LAS), and you can use buses 109 and 202 to get to and from the airport.
