The days are warm, there is little rain and the water is the perfect temperature for leisurely paddlers, snorkelling or scuba diving. Monsoon season falls between September and November in Koh Samui. Departing From Perth


There are no direct flights from Perth to Koh Samui, however the island can be reached with only a one-hour flight from Bangkok. Cheap airfares to Koh Samui booked with Qantas see passengers departing from Perth Airport’s T3/T4 precinct. Other airlines, such as Singapore Airlines, Virgin Australia, Thai Airways and Cathay Pacific, depart from T1/T2. Stopover location varies by airline and may include Singapore or Hong Kong. The flight time from Perth to Koh Samui is upwards of 9 hours.


 

Getting to Perth Airport


For added savings before you set out from PER to USM, utilise Perth’s public transportation system to get you to the airport. If you’re departing from the T1/T2 platform, hop on bus route 380 from Elizabeth Quay Station, Victoria Park Transfer Station, Burswood or the Belmont Forum Shopping Centre. If you’re departing from the T3/T4 platform, you’ll want to take Bus 40 from Elizabeth Quay Station. The $4.80 AUD fare on either bus route will get you to Perth Airport in about 30 minutes. If you’re strapped for time or you’re bringing a bit of luggage with you to Koh Samui, you can catch a Black and White or Swan taxi to the airport. The 20-minute ride will cost $43 AUD from the CBD.

The Long Term car park includes 24/7 monitoring and provides a free shuttle to take you to the terminals that runs every 10 minutes. Parking for T1/T2 entrances is located on Kingsford Smith Avenue and Partridge Road. Long Term parking for T3/T4 entrances is  located on Snook Road and Dunreath Drive.


 

Arriving in Koh Samui


Samui Airport (USM) goes by a couple of different names, including Sumui International Airport, Koh Samui Airport and Ko Samui Airport. It is located on the northern end of the island and was built by Bangkok Airways.


 

How to Get from Koh Samui Airport to Your Koh Samui Hotel or Accommodation


Koh Samui Airport (USM) has an array of transfer options to get you to your destination. You can book your transfer at the transfer counter in the arrivals area. A shared mini bus will get you from the airport into heart of Koh Samui for about $4.20AUD (100.00THB) a person. Please note that this service only leaves once it carries a minimum of five passengers. There are ample taxis. A one-way fare for a taxi will run about $16 AUD (381.00THB).
