Brisbane (BNE) to Gladstone (GLT) Airport Information

Departing from Brisbane Airport (BNE)

Located only 22km from the Brisbane CBD, Brisbane Airport is one of Queensland's busiest airports. It is easily accessed by private car, rideshare, taxi, bus, or a train service.

In a rush to get to Brisbane Airport? Take the SkyTrain airport train link. For around $15, it will get you from the CBD to the airport in under 20 minutes, with services leaving every 15 minutes from 5:04 a.m. to 10:04 p.m.

If you're looking for an even more affordable transport option to get to Brisbane Airport, the cheapest (but not quite the fastest) way to get there is on the bus. Routes 569 and 590 run from the CBD to the airport every day. If you want a faster option, you can take the more expensive hotel to airport shuttles.

The commute to Brisbane Airport is also very car-friendly at around 20-minutes from the CBD, with lots of parking options available:

  • Park Long: If you're visiting Gladstone for longer than a day, leave your car here. It's close to the terminals and check-in counters.
  • Park Premium: Located on level 3 of the P1 Domestic car park, this is the best option if you want the most convenience. It is the more expensive, but you'll have access to exclusive entry and exit ramps.
  • Park Valet: If you don't want to waste any time at the airport, use this option. All you need to do is park your car in the valet area, and the staff will help you with the rest.

Metered taxis and Uber is also available in Brisbane. A one-way trip will set you back around $30–45 depending on demand at the time. During peak-hour, the ring roads around Brisbane Airport can become highly congested with taxis, rideshares and private cars — so make sure you allow more time for the commute during these times and aim to arrive at the airport around 1-hour before your scheduled domestic depature.

If you’re travelled with checked luggage, we recommend that you arrive at Brisbane Airport at least 60 minutes prior to your flight time. Check-in is at least 45 minutes prior departure for most airlines and waiting times in queues can get extremely long if you need to weigh and check-in bags. This should also allow you enough spare time to grab a drink or food on your way to the departure gate without feeling too rushed.

Arriving at Gladstone Airport (GLT)

Non-stop, the flight from Brisbane (BNE) to Gladstone (GLT) should take about 1 hour 10 minutes. If you're travelling with checked luggage, it will be available to collect from the baggage carousels located in the Arrivals area. Trolleys are available too in this area for a minimal charge. Gold coins are accepted and are refunded when trolleys are returned.
