Ferenc Liszt is an international airport that serves the city of Budapest. It's one of the largest airports in the country and is located 16km from the city centre. The airport has flights to international destinations within Europe, Africa, Asia and The Middle East and is a focus city for Ryanair.
In July 2017, the airport launched a new direct bus between downtown Budapest and the airport. It costs HUF 900 for a single journey, and the bus runs every 30 minutes from 4:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The fastest and most convenient way of getting into the city is with a taxi. There is only one company authorised for pickups at the airport and rates are regulated with prepaid vouchers. A one-way trip should cost HUF 7,000 and take about 20 minutes to get into the city centre.
Ferenc Liszt airport also has a regular shuttle service. These minibus shuttles drop passengers off at their requested address and cost HUF 5,000 for two people.
