Seminyak Beach is a great place to go for beach clubs. Beach clubs are located beside the beach and often have an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Some nice beach clubs to visit include Ku De Ta Beach Club and Potato Head Beach Club. For a more secluded and local beach experience, Canggu is located a bit further up the coast and is loved for its beaches and rice fields.
While Bali is most known for its beaches, the island’s interior has so much to see as well. Ubud is located in the heart of the Balinese countryside and offers a completely different experience to the coastal towns of Bali. Ubud is known as an artistic town and is a centre for history and culture. Within the town centre, there are temples, a palace, and markets to explore. The Ubud Monkey Sanctuary is another favourite among visitors. There are hundreds of monkeys living in this sanctuary, and some will even eat fruit right from your hand. Another iconic part of Ubud is its rice fields. The Tegallalang Rice Terraces are located right outside town and offer stunning views of bright green tiers of rice terraces.
Island Hop to the Gili Islands
The Gili Islands are located a short distance from Bali and offer a completely different experience. There are three Gili Islands; Gili Trawangan offers lots of activities and nightlife; Gili Meno is quiet and secluded; and Gili Air has the best parts of the former two isles. There are no motorised vehicles on the Gili Islands, which give them a unique atmosphere compared to Bali. The islands are a great place to relax and unwind, lounge on the beach, and go snorkelling. There are day trips to the Gili Islands, but to truly appreciate them, plan to visit for a few days.
Visit Local Temples
The people of Bali are extremely spiritual people. All over the island, there are numerous temples to experience, and each one is a bit different. Tanah Lot is a popular temple to visit. Situated near Canggu, this temple is located directly in the ocean. Further down the coast, Uluwatu Temple is located on a cliff and is a great place to see the sunset. On the northern end of Bali, Pura Tirta Empul is a sacred water temple where Balinese people go to meditate and wash away bad energy. There are also some impressive temples in the centre of Ubud, including Pura Dalem Agung and the Saraswati Temple.
