Taxis and Uber leaving the airport charge a mandatory $3 pick-up fee on top of the fare. The cheapest transfer option is with the Adelaide Metro’s Jetline and JetExpress routes. The J1a line is the shortest route from Adelaide Airport to the city centre. If you have extra luggage or you’re with a large group, consider taking the J1x line. It’s the only double decker bus line with luggage racks on its lower deck. You can purchase tickets from the bus drivers who will be parked on the left-hand side of the plaza when you exit the terminal.

Mount Lofty is a well-known site in the Adelaide Hills, located a 20-minute drive from the city CBD. There is a hike leading to the summit, or you drive yourself to the top and enjoy panoramic views of the city and surrounding valleys. To climb the mountain, start at Waterfall Gully and make your way up. Many people encounter kangaroos on the way to the top. For some retail therapy, head to Rundle Mall.
