Travelling to Paraburdoo, Western Australia

Paraburdoo is a town in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Its name comes from the local Aboriginal word for 'white cockatoo'. Located on the south-western end of the Hamersley Range National Park, the town services the Paraburdoo mine, which contains nearly 80% of all identified iron ore reserves in Australia.

Due to its proximity to the Great Sandy Desert and in the Hamersley Ranges, Paraburdoo is a great place to stay for nature lovers. After the rains, the area comes alive with vibrant wildflowers. Visitors can also book in to tour the massive Pilbara mines.
