Bendigo Airport (BXG)

Bendigo Airport is a registered airport owned and operated by the City of Greater Bendigo. It is located in the suburb of East Bendigo to the north of Bendigo, just off the Midland Highway at 705ft above sea level. The airport is an approximate 10 minutes drive from the city centre. Bendigo Airport has 2 runways not including the newer N-S parallel runway proposed with the re-development and upgrade plan, alongside changes to the existing Business Park. 

The facilities include 19 hangars on site as well as the Bendigo Flying Club, Bendigo Recreational Aviation School, Goulding Airmotive, Air Ambulance Victoria Helicopter Emergency Medical Services, HEMS3 Air Ambulance Victoria and Sarges Light Sport Aviation. Bendigo Aviation Services (BAS) is located at the airport and offers chartered services, flight training and scenic tours. The Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) also houses a division of their fire fighting operations in Bendigo. Bendigo is a highly suitable location for aircraft emergency operations including fire control, flood response and locust suppression for North Central Victoria.

Currently there are no designated landing points or helipads for helicopter services. There are no commercial airlines servicing Bendigo Airport however, MyJet Charter flies its eight-seater jet between Bendigo and Melbourne Essendon Airport.

MyJet currently has 5 aircrafts in their fleet and specialises in corporate charter flights. Further details about this charter can be sourced at http://www.myjetcharter.com.au/. Newly established Goldair Bendigo will be open for bookings from 15th September 2013 connecting Bendigo to Melbourne Essendon four times a day and twice on weekends. The brief flight is expected to clock 25 minutes each way.

Visitors utilising Bendigo Airport are able to easily access public transport including taxis, buses trams and coaches to navigate into town. The airport offers free all day parking for visitors. Car and truck rentals are available through Avis, Budget Car and Truck Rentals, Hertz, Thrifty and Bendigo Low Cost Car Rentals.
