Classes of Travel
Premium
Premium or Business Class on South African Airways boasts flat-bed seats that were voted " The most comfortable Business Class Flat-bed Seat" in the world, by Skytrax 2004/2005 and are available on all A340-600 aircraft. Each seat on South African Airways Business Class has its own power supply for laptops, individual reading lights with four settings, telephones at every seat, individually adjustable lumbar support, articulated armrest which flattens to widen the bed to 24" and adjustable headrest. South African Airways Business Class passengers can enjoy an à la carte restaurant-dining experience, with gourmet meals available to eat when the passenger wishes.
Economy
Economy class on South African Airways contains seats with 33'' pitch and telephones in every seat. Passengers travelling on South African Airways Economy Class can enjoy the Audio-Video-On-Demand inflight entertainment. They can also enjoy a choice of two main courses accompanied by fine South African wines. This is available on all A340-600 aircraft.
In-flight Entertainment
Movies and other video or television choices are available on all South African Airways flights longer than 3 hours. South African Airways offers customers AVOD (Audio Video On Demand) on the Airbus A340-600, A340-300 and Boeing B747-400 aircraft on international flights. Customers can access either the Sony P@ssport system or the Panasonic 3000 System that is available at every seat. Passengers can select from a library of movies and audio programmes and are able to play, pause and continue programmes as they wish.
