Pre-Flight Information
Check-In Information
For most of Hong Kong Airlines’ flight routes, check-in opens between 2 and 3 hours hours prior to departure, and passengers are recommended to arrive at least an hour before their flight is scheduled to depart. Passengers travelling to or from the USA should aim to check-in about 3 hours before departure to allow enough time to clear security and customs procedures.
Hong Kong Airlines Online Check-In
Online check-in is available for select Hong Kong Airlines services, and is available from 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. Those travelling to or from the USA may check-in as early as 24 hours prior to departure.
Baggage
Carry-On Baggage
Hong Kong Airlines Economy Class
Economy Class passengers are allowed one piece of carry-on luggage, with a maximum weight of 7kg.
Hong Kong Airlines Business Class
Business Class passengers are welcome to travel with two pieces of carry-on luggage, and each piece has a maximum weight limit of 7kg.
In addition to the carry-on baggage allowance, Hong Kong Airlines also permits passengers to travel with one additional item that may include a small handbag, a laptop bag, a small backpack, a camera bag or a briefcase.
Checked Baggage Allowance
Hong Kong Airlines’ baggage allowance is dependent upon the destination to which you’re flying (called “Zone of destination”). For most flights, Economy Class passengers may travel with a total of 30kg of checked luggage, with a maximum of two pieces per person. Business Class passengers may travel with a total of 40kg of checked luggage, with a maximum of two pieces per person.
For flights to Saipan, Canada and the USA, passengers may travel with up to 23kg of luggage in Economy Class and up to 32kg in Business Class. These allowances can be split across a maximum of two pieces of luggage.
Fortune Wings Club
Hong Kong Airlines’ loyalty program is the Fortune Wings Club. The Fortune Wings Club is an alliance program and several other airlines are also partners, including Hainan Airlines, Grand China Air and more. There are five membership tiers: Fortune Wings Card, Select Card, Silver Card, Gold Card and Platinum Card. Travellers move between membership levels by accruing Status Qualifying Points (SQPs) or Status Qualifying Segments (SQSs), and points can be earned by staying at hotels, shopping online, using certain credit cards, renting cars and more. The membership benefits vary between levels, however cover perks such as lounge access, shuttle bus services, priority boarding, and extra baggage allowance. Points may also be redeemed to purchase discounted flights and to upgrade seats where available.

It has capacity for about 50 passengers, and is equipped with WiFi, a bank of iMac computers, a self-service bar, and a buffet of hot and cold food items.
