Canada's Top Sightseeing Stops

Australian travellers naturally associate Canada with great ski holidays - and as well they should. But Canada is so much more than fresh powder and superb ski resorts. It's a vibrant, multicultural country with many top sightseeing spots from sea to sea in all seasons.

Here are a few of our favourite sightseeing holiday destinations in Canada...

Niagara Falls - bucket loads of holiday fun!

A quick bus ride from Toronto lies one of Canada's most spectacular natural landmarks: Niagara Falls. North America's most powerful falls may not be high when compared with Africa's Victoria Falls or South America's Iguassu Falls, but what they lack in elevation they make up for in width and water flow.

Niagara Falls - 3 Falls in one!

Niagara Falls are broken up into three falls: The large Horseshoe Falls separating Canada from the United States and the American Falls and the smaller Bridal Veil Falls located on the US side of the border.

All three falls can be viewed up close from viewing platforms on both the Canadian and American side of the border. For a truly spectacular way to experience the falls try a boat ride into the very spray of the falls aboard the Maid of the Mist or journey behind the falls themselves!

Niagara Falls - Entertainment for the Whole Family

Seeing the falls would be worth the trip in and of itself, but there's so much more to do in and around Niagara Falls. Here are but a few of the attractions on offer:

The CN Tower - View Toronto From on High

For decades Toronto's CN Tower was known as the world's tallest free-standing structure or world's tallest building. Now that title belongs to the Burj Dubai, but the CN Tower remains a marvel of engineering and the best place to catch the sunset over Toronto's skyline.

Lake Louise - Glacier Waters in the Heart of the Rocky Mountains

A majestic glacier water lake amongst evergreen forests and snow-capped mountains - that, in a nutshell, is Lake Louise - one of Canada's most scenic sightseeing spots.

Stay the night, the week or more, ski to your heart's content in the winter months or go for a canoe ride during the summer over the still glacial waters. Lake Louise; truly one of nature's marvels!

Prince Edward Island

Remember Anne of Green Gables, the little red-headed girl in the novels of Lucy Maud Montgomery? If you do... and even if you don't, you'll love Anne's beloved home; Prince Edward Islands - a beautiful, scenic island in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence with sprawling windswept beaches and tasty lobsters.

To get to Prince Edward Island is simple. Book your flight to Halifax with Webjet, rent a car with Webjet (and don't forget to book your accommodations with Webjet too) and set off on your way, cross the massive Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island and enjoy!
