Skywest Airlines is now part of the Virgin Australia family

Virgin Australia completed the acquisition and renaming of Skywest Airlines in April 2013, providing Virgin Australia with the ability to increase competition on regional routes in Australia by growing their current regional network and delivering a more integrated service and frequent flyer program for Velocity members.

Customers with an existing Skywest Airlines booking for travel after 2 August 2013

Itinerary
Customers who have an existing booking with Skywest Airlines valid for travel after 2 August 2013 have been provided with new flight numbers and reservation references by Virgin Australia. Please note that origin, destination as well as departure and arrival times and dates remain the same.

Baggage Allowance
Customers who have been rebooked onto a Virgin Australia flight number are now entitled to 1 piece of baggage at 23kg per person, or complementary baggage allowance corresponding to the Velocity membership level at time of travel. 

Check-in
All Skywest Airline terminals will be rebranded to the Virgin Australia brand over the next couple of months. Customers are encouraged to refer to their itinerary to confirm departure/arrival terminals. Customers can also refer to the Virgin Australia site for updated information on check-in and terminal location.
