Jetstarâs Flights and Fleet

Jetstar operates around 1,000 weekly flights to 21 destinations throughout Australia and New Zealand.

From its hub in Singapore, Jetstar International and sister company, Valuair, fly to 13 destinations in 8 countries including Siem Reap (Ankor Watt), Phnom Penh in Cambodia and Hong Kong.

Leather seating comfort on every flight

In addition to its fleet of Airbus A330-220 aircraft refurbished to reflect the Jetstar colour scheme and comfort levels, Jetstar operates a modern fleet of Airbus A320s servicing its national and overseas routes. Comfortably seating 177 passengers within Australia and New Zealand, and 180 passengers on intra Asia flights, the Airbus A320 offers leather seating and the widest cabin of any single-aisle aircraft currently operating. The heavy maintenance on this modern fleet is undertaken by Jetstar’s own state-of-the art maintenance facility at Newcastle.

Jetstar plans for more seats?

Jetstar Chief, Alan Joyce, announced in 2007 that the airline is considering acquiring six A321s to give the airline extra flexibility on short-to-medium haul routes into South East Asia from Australia. The A321 can have up to 220 seats, compared to the 177 seats on the A320.

Jetstar Dreamliners 787 landing in 2009

Despite delays incurred by Boeing, Jetstar is preparing to take delivery of its first Dreamliner aircraft in 2009. The Boeing 787-8 will be configured to two cabins – the StarClass and economy class in 2009. The aircraft has the largest cabin windows on any commercial wide-body aircraft, and other touches such as electrically dimmable window shade control and advanced air purification systems.

Jetstar already operates one of the most modern fleets in the world. With the new additions, the airline will have not only the capacity but fuel efficiency to maintain its position as a world leader in budget travel.
