24th November 2005

Victorian-based company, Webjet Limited (Webjet), has come 18th in the 2005 DeloitteTechnology Fast 50 awards, achieving 283 per cent revenue growth over the last three years.

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranks the 50 fastest growing technology companies, public or private, based on percentage revenue growth over three years (2003 to 2005) and includes all related industry sectors: Communications; Software; Semiconductors, Components and Electronics; Life Sciences; Internet; and Computer Peripherals.

Webjet is the leading online retailer specialising in the sale of travel services over the internet via its website webjet.com.au.

Webjet Managing Director David Clarke said, "Our significant growth is the result of three key elements, the best technology, a focused and effective marketing strategy and the provision of the best online customer service and support available"

"One of our most successful strategies has been to stay focused on the needs of our customers and to develop technologies and customer support structures that satisfy these needs in manner consistent with our pure online model . Because we are not a hybrid operator, our customers are clear on what differentiates us from traditional travel providers and understand the benefits we provide. We are determined to remain a leading provider of internet travel services and to do that we have to continue to be innovative and adaptable to changing market circumstances whilst ensuring we stay focused on our business plan" David Clarke said.

Whilst we don't provide forecasts, we expect given reasonable market circumstances, our trend to continue over the next 12 months.

Deloitte Growth Solutions partner, Ms Julia Bickerstaff, says the growth of Webjet has been astounding.

"Managing growth is challenging for many organisations, but Webjet has achieved exceptional growth during a downturn in the technology sector. With the Australian and global tech sector showing more prosperous signs than the last three years, the future is looking even brighter for Webjet."
