Webjet Increases Market Footprint
2nd June 2006
Webjet today announced that it has booked approximately 240,000 passengers in the first five months of 2006.
This compares with approximately 116,000 in the corresponding period in 2005.
Commenting, Webjet Managing Director, David Clarke, said:
These passenger booking numbers are clear evidence of Webjet's growing market footprint and what we consider to be growing brand position in the Australian market.
On an annual basis, these numbers would suggest passenger volumes substantially in excess of 500,000. In the month of May alone, we have processed over 52,000 passengers as the impact of our various marketing campaigns has gained further momentum.
Webjet enters its new national television campaign with Channel 7 in July which will provide further market penetration for the Webjet brand in conjunction with our wide range of online and physical media activities.
