27th May 2008

Webjet today announced the addition of PayPal to Webjet.com.au for customers buying international airfares.

Webjet CEO, Richard Noon said "this new partnership between Webjet and PayPal is a win for Webjet customers in many ways.

Firstly, PayPal provides our customers with several online alternatives to just traditional credit card payments. PayPal purchases can be made via a customers credit card, debit card, bank account or existing PayPal balance. Secondly, Webjet customers not only have a variety of airlines to select from, but also the flexibility of choosing how they pay for their tickets online. Credit card and non credit card customers alike are now catered for using a secure electronic payment facility many would already be familiar with.

The Webjet and PayPal relationship is however much more than a traditional supplier and merchant arrangement. It is a marketing partnershipwhere together we will provide our customers with a range of special promotions and discount price offers on a huge selection of some of our most popular international airfares. The first of these promotions commences in June 2008 where the first 500 customers who purchase one of our international airfares using PayPal, will receive a $100 PayPal credit. That's $50,000 in discounts in the month of June alone; giving consumers even more reasons to book their international airfares on Webjet.com.au "

Andrew Pipolo, Managing Director for PayPal in Australia, said "We're delighted to welcome Webjet, Australia's leading online travel agency, to the PayPal network. Over 5 million PayPal account holders in Australia will now be able to pay for international travel quickly, easily and securely."
